Protocol, Etiquette and communication

Course Outline

This course is designed to equip high executive  officers with the knowledge and skills required to navigate formal environments with confidence, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity. It covers the principles of protocol, etiquette, and official conduct across diplomatic, corporate, and governmental settings. Whether engaging with dignitaries, attending official functions, or representing an organization, learners will gain the tools to present themselves with poise and precision.

Module 1: Introduction to Protocol

  • Objective: Understand the concept and importance of protocol in official and diplomatic settings.
  • Topics Covered:
    • Definition and history of protocol
    • Types of protocol: diplomatic, ceremonial, military, corporate
    • Protocol hierarchy and precedence
    • Role of protocol officers
  • Activities: Case studies of international protocol breaches; role-play exercises

Module 2: Etiquette and Professional Conduct

  • Objective: Develop refined interpersonal skills and understand etiquette norms across cultures.
